Era il 1982 quando a New York Arthur Baldwin Turnure fondò Vogue, ma è solo nel 1909, dopo l' acquisizione di Condè Montrose Nast, che la rivista di moda intraprese il cammino che la portò a diventare la più celebre al mondo.

Milano ne celebra il successo con una mostra alla Fondazione Forma - Fashion: un secolo di straordinarie fotografie di moda dagli archivi Condè Nast- a cura di Nathalie Herschdorfer, per un progetto della Foundation of the exhibition of photography, aperta fino al 7 aprile.

200 immagini tratte dagli archivi di New York, Parigi, Londra e Milano raccontano la storia della fotografia della moda, l' evoluzione della società e dell' immagine della donna e della sua bellezza nel corso dell' ultimo secolo.

Proprio a Condè Nast si deve l' intuizione dell' importanza che la fotografia avrebbe rivestito nel mondo dell' editoria, realizzando che sarebbe stata la qualità dei servizi a decretarne il successo.

Un pioniere a 360° , tanto da creare dal nulla le prime top model, reclutando attrici nei teatri di Broadway e portandole sui set, contribuendo così a far nascere la fotografia glamour.

Un' industria in perenne oscillazione tra arte e business, il mondo patinato per eccellenza è raccontato in questa mostra , fondamentale memoria di ciò che ha davvero rappresentato la sperimentazione.

It was 1982 when Arthur Baldwin Turnure founded Vogue in N.Y. , but it was only in 1909, when Condè Montrose Nast picked it up, that  the magazine began to grow in popularity.

Milan celebrates this huge success with an exhibition at the Fondazione Forma - Fashion: a century of extraordinary photography from the Condè Nast archives- curated by Nathalie Herschdorfer, organized by the Foundation of the exhibition of photography, on view by April 7th.

200 images took from the archives in N.Y., Paris, London and Milan tell the history of fashion photography, the evolution of society and the changing of woman and her beauty, through the last century.

We owe to Condè Nast himself the intuition of the importance of photography in the publishing industry, realizing that the quality of photo shoots would have been the key to success.

The ultimate pioneer, so to "create" the first supermodels, recruiting actresses in Broadway' s theaters and bringing them to photo sets, contributing to the birth of fashion photography.

An industry in constant oscillation between art and business, the glamour world par excellence is represented at best with this event, extraordinary memory of what real experimenting used to be.
